About our Program
The San Diego Unified School District Infant/ Toddler Development Program serves children birth to three years of age who reside within San Diego, who demonstrate a significant delay in at least one area of development or have a condition likely to cause developmental delay.
Eligibility is determined by professionals who review records, talk with families and identify developmental skills by playing with the child. When a child is eligible, an Individualzed Family Service Plan (IFSP) is developed.
Our Mission
Our mission is to provide a range of early intervention services to families of children with special needs between birth to three years of age. While primary focus is given to the infant in need, we serve the child within the context of each family's strengths, abilities, and expectations. Our program is based upon an interdisciplinary team approach to the education of infants with special needs. Our goal is to provide the appropriate match between each child's and family needs with the most effective early intervention options.
